Chapter 6 Buying A Wedding Dress For Her Kathryns POV: Lush Moon Atelier was situated in the old streets of Bearscaster.
What started out as a single storefront had expanded into a row of shops, encompassing more than four hundred square meters.
They had even hired seven to eight assistants.
Esther had gone on a business trip, leaving me in temporary charge of the shop.
The atelier had a dedicated lounge on the second floor.
After settling my luggage and briefly arranging a place for myself, I quickly shifted into work mode, focusing on the task information brought to me by an assistant.
A short while later, my deep immersion in work was interrupted by an assistant.
Ms.
Lovelace, theres a client we cant handle.
I quickly pulled myself together.
Hold on for a moment; Ill be right there.
I slipped into a sleek business suit, applied some light makeup, and descended the stairs in a pair of high heels.
From a distance, I spotted two familiar figures on the couch in the hall.
My steps faltered, and the smile that had been playing on my lips vanished instantly.
The difficult client was none other than Lucian and Juliette.
Upon seeing me, Lucian immediately furrowed his brows.
He swiftly rose to his feet, striding over in a few steps to grab my arm.
Kathryn, youve really grown bold! Running away from home now, are you? Run away from home? Did he not see the divorce papers on the coffee table? I pulled my hand away from his, a polite smile playing at the corners of my mouth.
Mr.
Gandillon, Im at work, so please show some respect.
Lucian furrowed his brow, his voice laced with cold sarcasm and impatience.
Do you think Im short of money? To the point that you need to be out here, serving others coffee or tea? Serving others? Is he mistaking me for an attendant? Never once did I hide the fact I knew how to design from him.
Had he paid even the slightest attention to me, he would have noticed me sketching every now and then.
He simply didnt love me, and that was why he never bothered to spare a thought for me.
He even believed that, without him, I could only resort to working part-time as an attendant.
Were already divorced, so even if I disgrace myself by being an attendant, it wont reflect on you.
Arent you afraid that Ms.

Pearce will get the wrong idea with you acting like this? We had been secretly married for three years, so Juliette probably didnt even know who I was, right? Lucians face fell instantly.
What divorce? Stop talking nonsense! Could it be that he had been so engrossed with Juliette that night that he didnt even hear a word I said and didnt even return home the next day? You truly are something, Lucian Gandillon! I forcefully pulled away from Lucians grip, striving to maintain my composure.
Its nothing.
A divorce agreement will be sent to your office tomorrow.
Dont forget to sign it! Lucian was just about to reach out to grab me again when Juliette jogged over from the hall to his side.
She flashed her charming dimples and asked, Whats the matter? With a furrowed brow, Lucian asked, Why have you come over? Juliette stood gracefully by his side, answering softly, Youve been here for quite a while, so I came to check on you.
Do you know this attendant? No, I mistook her for someone else.
Lucians voice was rigid.
We were married for three years, yet in his words, I was nothing more than a stranger he didnt recognize! I scoffed, too weary to continue our back-and-forth.
Just as I was about to briskly walk away, Juliette approached and said with an understanding tone, Well, even mistaking her for someone else is still fate, right? Could you do us a favor and show us the wedding dress Serenity designed? A wedding dress? So, Lucian was in such a hurry to marry Juliette? Our divorce papers hadnt even been submitted to City Hall yet! I almost let out a furious laugh at this despicable pair.
Even though I had decided to divorce Lucian, I still couldnt swallow my pride! Moreover, the wedding dress that Juliette spoke of was the only one I had designed in recent years.
Even now, it remained in the most prominent position in Lush Moons shop, with a staggeringly high price tag.
Everyone understood without saying a word this item was not for sale.
I had painstakingly crafted the dress stitch by stitch, all for a promise that Lucian had mentioned but clearly not intended to keep now.
He once promised me he would give me a grand wedding ceremony that everyone would acknowledge.
You want my wedding dress, do you? I strove to keep my composure, leading Juliette to the item in question.
Juliette pointed excitedly at the wedding dress displayed in the showcase, exclaiming, I want this one! With an impassive face, Lucian nodded.
You should try it on.
The assistant walking beside him gently cautioned, Sir, this particular model is not available to the public Before she could finish speaking, I hastily cut her off.
Its for sale, just a bit pricey ten million nine hundred and fifty thousand in Azanian currency.
This figure was ten times higher than my original asking price.
In a way, it was for the three years I had squandered on Lucian.
I stared icily at Lucian, wondering if he was going to pick up the tab for Juliette.
